Paul Mitchell Awapuhi Shampoo Review

I must admit I was a little sceptical at first with this shampoo. On the front the description is 'super rich shampoo' and on the back description it's noted that it's also a 'cleansing shampo' that gets rid of buildup. Suspcious...However, I gave it a go and was pleasantly surprised that it did exactly what it said it did on the bottle.

The product has a strong fresh melon/aloe vera hybrid smell which I think is gorgeous, the smell doesn't last on the hair for more than a few hours which for me is ideal as I prefer to spray hair mists into my hair to get it smelling lovely. The bottle is also a lovely addition to my shower, I love the minimalist look of it.

The product lathers easily and leaves the hair feeling squeeky clean, whilst moisturised. I found that I had to wash my day earlier than usual after using this but I'm not sure whether that's just because I had been touching my uber clean roots so much that they became greasy.

Buy here for £8.71.

  1. I've yet to try this Shampoo. I was curious if it contained any sulfates? Its hard finding a shampoo that does what it says! Good review. I'll be sure to look into this.

  33. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this shampoo with us, girlie! It sounds great. Keep us posted, if you continue to use it, if it still makes your hair greasy. I have fine hair, which gets super greasy easily and I wonder if it isn't suitable for my hair type or if it's because you were touching your hair. I hope you have a lovely day, beauty!

  38. I hate to be one of "those people" but your title says Phillip Mitchell and the shampoo is Paul Mitchell! I would just hate to see your hard work discredited! Please don't take that the wrong way, just looking out for a fellow blogger!! ;)
I've used a lot of Paul Mitchell products and love most. However, a lot of times I feel like I forget about the brand because I'm too excited to try others!! Haha! I have Paul Mitchel's Awapuhi Face & Hair Mist and it's amazing. It's so light and airy but hydrates your skin and hair so well. I can imagine the shampoo would do the same (of course not for your face though!!).

  67. This is a nice shampoo but after a couple of years use my hair started to go dry..I think it was due to the aging process I hadn't realised my hair was becoming dryer until I had the flu and didn't wash my hair and it didnt become greasy. So if you have dry hair although this product is good to remove product build up you may find you need to alternate with a moisturising shampoo. .especially if you are over 40
